What Ten Years Builds.
A community. A school. A decade of proof.
One story a week, all the way through June.
"In 2016, a school opened in Namasale on a belief so simple it should not have needed proving: where you are born should never determine your future."

GIVING CATALOGUE
From the market to the classroom
A Giving Catalog Celebrating 10 Years of Global Leaders Primary
NOURISHING STUDENTS EACH DAY
For many students, school meals are the most reliable meals of the day. Your gift helps students learn, grow, and focus in the classroom.
While it may seem simple, a box of chalk goes a long way toward opening doors to educate hundreds of our students each day! Chalk is a VITAL supply that we never seem to have enough of at GLP! Please help us purchase chalk from our local bookshop in Lira, Uganda!
Local, organic, fresh fruits are abundant in Namasale’s villages! Help support local farmers while also enhancing our student’s breakfasts with some fresh fruit. With your support, we could provide a breakfast-time treat to our students at least once per month!
One month of fresh, organic produce for student meals makes all the difference! Help us to provide nutritious and rich meals to our 500 students at Global Leaders Primary School!
Our largest cost at Global Leaders is MAIZE FLOUR! Corn flour is a main staple in Ugandan food and is the most expensive regular cost we incur. Your support can purchase hundreds of KGs of Maize Flour so we can feed our students each and every day, and no child has to go to school on an empty stomach!
Purchase a chicken for GLP’s school farm! Chickens are great, low cost investments for our school farm to supplement student’s diets! We always, always can use more chickens in the coop! Help us purchase 500 chickens this year!
Cooking Oil for our students meals is one of our BIGGEST expenses at Global Leaders! For $100, you can help purchase 1 month of cooking oil so that we can continue to feed our students 3 meals each day!
Beans are one of the most costly items to purchase (depending on the season and harvest availability) yet we feed them to our kids each day as a staple in Ugandan meals. Your support can purchase 1 month of beans for student meals for 500 kiddos!
FUELING CREATIVITY AND LEARNING
From nursery classrooms to upper primary, students learn through creativity, collaboration, and hands-on experiences that help build confidence and leadership.
You can purchase supplies for our Teachers to create their own learning charts & purchase new posters for decorating their classrooms! Need 10! (One for each upper classroom)
Help our students to honor their cultural heritage through our music, dance and drama program! Your support will help purchase costume supplies, musical instruments and dance classes for our students to express themselves through the creative arts!
Help us bridge the digital divide for our students! Thanks to the support of the BABA Foundation and Team4Tech, we now have desktop computers at GLP! However, internet access is costly! Your support can provide our ENTIRE CAMPUS with 3 months of internet access for our students to explore the world from the comfort of their classroom!
In 2024, GLP will be opened its own Preschool and we need your support to outfit these new classrooms with interactive play materials! Your donation will help us purchase items like floor mats, cots, and imaginative play materials!
INVESTING IN EDUCATORS AND LEADERSHIP
Teachers are at the heart of Global Leaders Primary. Your support helps provide stable employment, mentorship, and quality education in rural Uganda.
Your support can help provide gainful employment for one Teacher in rural Uganda to work at Global Leaders Primary School for an entire year! Teachers often live off of less than $400/month and your support can ensure job security for these tenacious educators!
Your support can provide 1-month of a teacher’s salary for an educator at Global Leaders Primary School!
Your support can provide a Teacher Training Workshop for our teachers at Global Leaders AND additional teachers from our partner schools across Amolatar District, impacting THOUSANDS of students district wide!
SUPPORTING STUDENT HEALTH AND WELLBEING
Healthy students are better able to learn and thrive. These gifts help support hygiene, healthcare access, and opportunities for vulnerable children.
25% of girls in Uganda will drop out of school when they begin their period. Your gift will equip 1 girl in Amolatar with AfriPads so they never miss a day of school due to their period!
About AfriPads: AFRIpads is committed to helping women and girls overcome the barriers that menstruation creates in their lives so they rise to their full potential. Women and girls around the world who use AFRIpads Menstrual Kits are empowered with the protection and comfort they need during menstruation. This enables them to stay in school, go to work, and participate in daily life with the confidence, dignity and peace of mind they deserve.
For $200, your gift will provide a 1-year boarding school scholarship at Global Leaders Primary school for a student from the Amolatar community who has lost one or both parents or who has had their education interrupted due to unforeseen family circumstances. *Please note this is not a 1:1 Sponsorship to protect the privacy of the children and families at GLP.
You can support sanitation, health & hygiene at our school by purchasing several jerrycans of antibacterial liquid soap. Need three sets to last all year!
Your purchase will allow our team in Uganda to buy malaria medications and first aid supplies for our clinic! Help our students stay healthy this school year by sponsoring this need.
SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES AND CELEBRATION
Your gifts support local businesses, create jobs, and help students celebrate important milestones with dignity and pride
You can hire the three local tailors who will create new uniforms for our incoming students this term! Our student’s uniforms are a source of great pride and are HANDMADE by incredibly talented tailors!
Graduation ceremonies are a BIG DEAL in rural Uganda! We invite the entire community, family and friends to come and celebrate our students. Your support can ensure we are able to purchase food, drinks and other celebration supplies to ensure our students continue on to their next class with PRIDE!
BUILDING LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY
As we celebrate 10 years of Global Leaders Primary, we’re investing in sustainable systems that will strengthen the school and community for generations to come.
Sponsor our school Nurses for one year, who take care of our entire 500 student body each and every day. Our nurses are dedicating their career to ensuring kids have a fantastic school experience!
Global Leaders Primary School provides daily meals to 500 students—many of whom rely on school lunch as their primary source of nutrition. Currently, our kitchen burns firewood daily to prepare meals, costing the school nearly $9,000 annually. This method not only strains our limited resources, but also exposes our cooks to harmful smoke, contributing to serious respiratory health risks.
We propose the installation of a biogas stove system on campus to replace firewood with a clean, renewable source of energy derived from organic waste (cows, chickens, ect).
A $10,000 investment will significantly reduce operating costs and protect the health of our dedicated kitchen staff, while aligning with global standards in sustainable development and climate-conscious infrastructure.
THE DECADE'S PROOF POINT
From co-founder to Parliament.
Collines Angwech grew up in Amolatar. She left on a scholarship and could never stop asking why her village did not have tarmac roads, working hospitals, beautiful schools.
Three years after meeting Jayme, she co-founded Far Away Friends. In 2016, she opened Global Leaders Primary School in her home village. In 2025 — against five candidates, as the only woman, on an opposition ticket — she was elected to Uganda's Parliament.
Real change is never the work of one person. It is the result of collective belief, shared sacrifice, and hope.
